How to find the layers that are right for you

How to find the right layers for you

Svala AIR System™ is an air-based layering system. Air insulates best when every layer fits perfectly – too loose and heat escapes, too tight and the air is squeezed out.

That is why we have put together guidance on this page to help you find the right size for you.

How do you take body measurements?

All you need is a tape measure and three measurements. That way, you get your size right first time.

Before you start.
Ideally, measure yourself in your underwear. That gives the most accurate result. No tape measure? Use a piece of string and a ruler.

A. Chest circumference
Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your chest. Keep the tape straight – not too tight and not too loose.

B. Waist circumference
Measure your waist at its narrowest point. Don’t hold your breath.

C. Hip circumference
Wrap the tape measure around the widest part of your hips.

Two tips
The surest way to find your size is to measure yourself rather than guess from past purchases. If needed, ask someone to help – it makes measuring easier.

Remember that these are body measurements, so ideally measure yourself in your underwear. Use the measurements together with your height and weight to find the size that suits you best.

A. Chest

B. Waist

C. Hips
