Merino Extreme – the best of two fibres
Merino Extreme is a double-layer knit developed by Svala for cold and changeable conditions: polypropylene against your skin and merino wool on the outside. It combines the efficient moisture wicking of polypropylene with the natural warmth of merino wool.
- Moisture away from your skin. The polypropylene in the inner layer absorbs only about 0.03% of its weight in moisture, and the structure helps move moisture towards the outer layer. This keeps the side against your skin feeling drier, even after you've been sweating.
- Warmth from merino wool. The yarn in the outer layer is 90% merino wool and 10% polyamide. Merino wool provides warmth and helps manage moisture, while polyamide makes the fabric more hard-wearing and longer-lasting.
- Two layers, one knit. The layers are knitted together into a light 200 g/m² fabric.
-
When the pace changes. The fabric works especially well when your body temperature and activity keep changing: first you move and sweat, then you stop, and you still stay warm.
Dry against your skin. Merino warmth on the outside.
