Svala's Airbase garments stay functional, odour-free and fresh for a long time because they are silver-ion treated. Their odour-resistant properties last through washing.

Airing
Air your Airbase garment. It is an effective way to neutralise unpleasant odours, also on the trail and on trips. How long to air it depends on how much freshening it needs. If you air it for longer, make sure the sun does not shine directly on the garment, so it does not fade or become brittle. Airing it overnight works well.
Machine washing
Svala's Airbase mesh knit can be machine washed at 60 °C. We recommend washing the garment in a laundry bag so the mesh does not catch on, for example, the zips of other clothes.
- laundry bag recommended
- turn the garment inside out
- bleach-free detergent
- no fabric softener
- do not tumble dry
Yarn loops
Sometimes a branch, a tool or another sharp object catches on a garment and pulls a loop of yarn out of the knit. If the loop is not broken, the material is easy to repair and no tear will form.
Using both hands, gently stretch the mesh knit around the loop in different directions. This returns the yarns to their original positions. If the loop does not disappear completely, you can pull it through to the inside of the garment using a small crochet hook, for example.

Keep away from fire and sharp branches
Svala Airbase mesh knit withstands normal wear and abrasion. If it is the only layer you are wearing, keep away from campfires and watch out for sharp rocks and branches on the trail.
Storage
Store your Airbase garment dry and away from direct heat. This keeps the material and its properties in top condition for a long time.
