The unisex Niva zip-neck jumper is a warm wool jumper for the outdoors and everyday life, from autumn to spring. With its high collar and half zip, you can adjust your warmth to suit the weather and your pace. The jumper is 100% wool.

Niva – a jumper that keeps you warm from autumn to spring

When the air turns colder and the days get shorter, you need a layer that keeps the warmth close but doesn't get stuffy once you start moving. Niva's thick wool knit traps air between its stitches, which keeps you warm. Wool fibre regulates warmth: the jumper keeps you warm when you stop and lets moisture escape when you move.

The high collar protects your neck from the wind. When you're warm enough, open the half zip to let excess heat out. When you stop, zip it back up and the collar keeps you warm again. You adjust your warmth with one movement, without having to take off layers halfway through your trip.

Wool is naturally odour-resistant, so Niva stays fresh for a long time. When you take it off after a long day outdoors, you don't have to throw it straight in the wash – you can put it on again the next morning.

Tested outdoors: the Niva jumper gives you room to move

The Niva jumper has a regular fit, so it's neither tight nor baggy. In the knitted-to-shape raglan construction, the seam runs diagonally from the collar to the underarm, so there's no seam on your shoulder to restrict your movement. You can raise your arms and reach without the jumper pulling across your shoulders. Because the pieces are knitted to shape rather than cut from fabric, the jumper sits naturally on your body.

Rib-knit cuffs and hem fit snugly and keep cold air out. Thumb loops hold the sleeves in place when you pull on a jacket or reach. There's a hanging loop at the back, so you can hang the jumper on a hook in the cottage hallway or on a tree branch.

Wear Niva on its own on a crisp autumn day or as a warm layer under your jacket. Niva is made from 100% wool. Wool fibre regulates warmth, so you stay comfortable even as you switch between moving and standing still. For the same reason, the jumper works on a freezing morning as well as on a mild spring evening.

Niva's knit is 5 gg (gauge). The number tells you how densely the jumper is knitted: the lower the number, the thicker the yarn and the bigger the stitches. Big stitches trap insulating air, which keeps the heat your body produces inside the jumper. As part of your layering, Niva keeps you warm down to −30 °C when you wear the right layers under and over it.

Wool is naturally odour-resistant. Wool fibre absorbs the moisture from sweat into its core, so the surface of the fibre stays drier and odour-causing bacteria don't thrive there. The fibre also binds odours and releases them when you air the jumper. That way, Niva stays fresh for several wears, and one jumper is enough for a weekend trip instead of several.

Wool doesn't need frequent washing. Usually, hanging the jumper outside to air is enough. When it does need a wash, wash it by hand and dry it flat. Looked after well, Niva keeps its shape and keeps you warm winter after winter.
