The Ventile 200 cap is made for days when the weather changes halfway through. In the morning it's windy, at midday the sun is blazing and in the afternoon a shower rolls in. The dense cotton fabric keeps the wind out and copes with light rain, yet still lets heat and moisture escape. That's why the cap doesn't feel stuffy, even on a hot day.

Cotton feels natural and soft. The cap sits so lightly on your head that you forget it's there, so you can keep it on all day, from your morning commute to an evening on the jetty.

The fabric is firm when new but softens with wear, and every summer leaves its mark. The longer the cap goes with you, the more it starts to look like you.

Tested outdoors: the Ventile 200 cap for any situation

The simple, timeless design sits lightly on your head without pinching. With the stepless sliding adjuster at the back, you can make the cap just snug enough to stay in place, even on a windy beach. The cap comes in two sizes, M and L, so it's easy to find the right fit for your head.

You'll recognise the cap by its tone-on-tone embroidered swallow. It's deliberately subtle, so you only notice it up close. Svala is Swedish for swallow. Swallows return late in spring, when summer is just around the corner – as an old Finnish saying goes, there's no summer day without the swallow. They spend the light months free in the sky, flying low before rain and high on fine days. We want to bring you the same sense of freedom. “I wanted to design the Ventile cap to be simple and timeless – one I'd take on a hike myself, but would just as happily wear every day. Ventile's dense cotton fabric gives the cap structure, but it softens and takes on its own character with wear. What interests me most about the material is its breathability and natural protection from wind and light rain. I wanted to keep the details to a minimum. The tone-on-tone embroidered swallow is a subtle little detail that's typical of Svala.”

A fabric that breathes

The Ventile 200 cap is made from 100% cotton. No blends – just densely woven Ventile fabric that gives the cap its structure. The fabric weighs 200 g/m² and has a hydrostatic head of 600 mm. It naturally protects against wind and light rain but still breathes: heat and moisture can escape, so your head doesn't overheat under the cap.

The material is OEKO-TEX 100 certified, so it has been tested for harmful substances. The cap is designed in Finland and carries the Design from Finland label. It's made in Estonia by Velmard, with decades of experience behind it.
